Changbai Mountain among top outdoor sports destinations in China

On Oct 26, at the opening of the 2024 China Outdoor Sports Industry Conference, the Chinese Mountaineering Association announced Changbai Mountain as one of the "Top 10 Outdoor and Mountaineering Destinations" in China.

Changbai Mountain's unique landscape offers diverse outdoor experiences that feature both tranquility and thrills. Visitors can enjoy serene activities like forest cycling, year-round hiking, and scenic self-driving adventures, as well as adrenaline-pumping pursuits like wilderness exploration, high-altitude climbing, and forest camping.

The area is recognized as a training hub and hosts the Chinese Athletics Association's "Race Walking Training Base" and "Marathon Training Base". Since 2000, Changbai Mountain has organized multiple major outdoor sports events, including the National New Year's Climbing Conference, China's first University Outdoor Challenge, and the "Source-Seeking Outdoor Race". It also hosts a nationwide mountain marathon series and climbing competitions.

This designation not only celebrates Changbai Mountain's rich natural resources but also reinforces its status as a leading destination for outdoor sports and eco-tourism, drawing enthusiasts to experience both peaceful landscapes and challenging terrains.
