Northeast China's Jilin province, with its rich ice and snow tourism resources, is witnessing rapid growth and increased popularity among visitors.

Last winter season, the province welcomed 1.25 billion domestic tourists, generating 241.9 billion yuan ($33.93 billion) in tourism revenue – both figures doubling from the previous year.

At a recent provincial meeting, a new development blueprint for the ice and snow economy was outlined, focusing on enhancing open policies and strengthening cultural and market systems.

In the upcoming snow season, Jilin will take a three-pronged approach to implement the spirit of the meeting.

First, Jilin aims to elevate its global presence by hosting the second World Ice and Snow Economy of Cold Regions Conference and the eighth Jilin International Ice and Snow Industry Expo, building an international platform for cooperation. The province will also advance the "Ice and Snow Silk Road" innovation zone to align with national strategies.

Second, Jilin will focus on integrating ice and snow tourism with agriculture, culture, commerce and sports to enhance overall market vitality.

The province will strengthen snow villages and resort tourism, as well as expand urban snow parks like Changchun Ice and Snow New World.

Lastly, Jilin will boost its brand by promoting its unique winter attractions under campaigns like "Charming Jilin" and "Warm Winter Adventures in Jilin" – aiming to attract more visitors and expand its influence both domestically and internationally.
