The 2024 International Youth Forum on Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Roads kicked off on Sunday and will run until Saturday. This year's forum features activities in Changsha, Hunan province, and Nanjing, Jiangsu province. Youth representatives from 53 countries and regions participating in the Belt and Road Initiative will attend.
In Changsha, the youth representatives will attend a high-level forum, a youth welcoming banquet and an idea-sharing event. They will also visit scenic areas and preview the province's intangible heritage.
Zhou Haibing, mayor of Changsha, extended a warm welcome to representatives from home and abroad.
Culture is the root of a city, and youth is the hope for the city's development, he said.
It is hoped that young people from different countries can take advantage of the event to actively participate in building the Belt and Road Initiative, he said.
He also invited young talent to pursue their dreams in Changsha to build a closer community with a shared future for mankind.
