Ten days after Super Typhoon Yagi struck Hainan province and one day prior to the Mid-Autumn Festival, journalists from Sansha Satellite TV visited Wengtian town in Wenchang city to assess the progress of recovery and reconstruction efforts.

They observed that many businesses had resumed operations, restaurants were serving customers again and residents were pleased to have electricity restored. However, some villages were still in the process of regaining power.

Fu Shiping, the head of the village work team in Wengtian town, noted that the typhoon had caused significant damage, particularly to houses and industries such as forestry and livestock farming. Despite these challenges, the recovery situation in their village committee was relatively positive, with all 16 groups having fully restored water supply and communication signals.

On the Mid-Autumn Festival, which fell on Tuesday, power repair teams in Wengtian town gathered to celebrate the festival and commemorate the successful restoration of power to the town.

Chen Zhuo, deputy secretary of the town committee, expressed a warm sentiment, saying that the local people want to extend an invitation for the repair team members to regard Wengtian as their second home, where they can celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and share in the joy with their loved ones.
