A salon aimed at propelling Chinese new energy companies towards international markets took place at the Hongqiao International Central Business District on May 31.

Organized by Fudan University's Executive Master of Business Administration, the district's administrative committee, Shanghai Nanhongqiao Investment and Development (Group) Co Ltd, and Paper Technology, the event focused on the experiences of Chinese companies that have ventured or are trying to expand into global markets. Its main focus was to emphasize the importance of understanding and mitigating risks during the internationalization process.

Tang Zhehui, deputy managing partner of the audit services department at EY Central China and an EMBA alumnus of Fudan University, shared the transformative journey of Chinese companies venturing abroad. He emphasized the shift from cost-driven to market-driven strategies, highlighting that service trade supply chain expansions are crucial for Chinese manufacturing enterprises entering and flourishing in international markets.

Addressing legal compliance in overseas investments, Luan Jianhai of Tongshang Law Firm, detailed key considerations such as overseas direct investments procedures and antitrust regulations. The roundtable discussion included industry experts like Associate Professor Li Zhiguo from Fudan University and executives from Jinko Solar and other leading companies, all of whom emphasized the need for continuous innovation and global market diversification.

The event is part of the "Homeland Program", which was launched by Fudan University EMBA and Paper Technology last May. The program's main objective is to foster a vibrant science and technology ecosystem in China. The program has already facilitated discussions in various industrial parks across China, leading to the growth of science and technology enterprises in the country.
