Chifeng road honored among China's 'Top 10 Most Beautiful Rural Roads'

The Wudan-Baiyintaohai ecotourism industrial road in Ongniud Banner of Chifeng in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region was honored among the "Top 10 Most Beautiful Rural Roads" in China for 2023.

Stretching 91 kilometers and with a total investment of 177 million yuan ($24.25 million), the road traverses the vast Horqin Sandy Land. It is Chifeng's longest desert-spanning asphalt road to date.

The road passes through four towns, linking various local industries, ecological farming and ranching areas, historical study sites, and unique tourist attractions. Along it, approximately 700,000 mu (46,666.67 hectares) of sandy land have been successfully rehabilitated.
