In recent years, Xi'an has been strategically allocating medical resources, implementing a tiered diagnosis and treatment system, enhancing primary healthcare service capabilities, and promoting the construction of medical consortiums to meet the increasingly diverse healthcare needs of the public.

The city has been steadily improving primary healthcare conditions. Over the past few years, a total of 285 community health service centers, stations, and township health centers have been built, relocated, or expanded, with 303 village clinics publicized, leading to significant improvements in service facilities and conditions.

Throughout the city, 185 community health service centers and township health centers have met the basic standards for quality services.

On April 12, Xi'an's No 3 Hospital inaugurated a satellite hospital in the Baqiao Community Health Service Center, marking the establishment of the city's 10th satellite hospital.

The satellite hospital medical consortium is a healthcare service model being explored by the city, aiming to enhance the operational efficiency of tertiary hospitals and the service capabilities of primary healthcare institutions, addressing the challenges posed by the tiered diagnosis and treatment system.

Furthermore, Xi'an has introduced additional specialized health check-up programs for the elderly, supplementing the national basic public health service projects with chest X-rays and ultrasounds for individuals aged 65 and above.

This year, Xi'an initiated a special recruitment program for university student rural doctors, encouraging talented healthcare professionals to work in rural health centers to address the shortage of primary healthcare personnel in such areas.
