Shanxi released an analysis report for its 2024 Qingming Festival holiday tourism market on April 7, which revealed that during the three-day holiday from April 4 to 6, the demand for travel soared, presenting a thriving tourism market across the entire province.
The report showed that Taiyuan, as the province's key tourism destination, maintained the leading position in terms of tourist flow by providing a rich variety of cultural and tourism products, while Yuncheng city and Jinzhong city ranked second and third, respectively.
Furthermore, Datong city became a highlight during this holiday period. Thanks to its key scenic spots and distinctive cuisine, the city was listed as one of China's top-10 destinations for increase in popularity.
During the Qingming Festival holiday, natural scenic areas across the entire province continued to gain popularity. In terms of the number of visitors received by A-level scenic spots, the Ancient City of Pingyao topped the list, followed by the Yungang Grottoes, Mount Wutai, and Xinzhou Ancient City.
From the perspective of tourist sources, Shanxi tourists were the main contributors to the holiday tourism market. Surrounding provinces and cities such as Shaanxi, Hebei, Henan, and Beijing were Shanxi's main sources of out-of-province tourists during the holiday.
At the same time, the public opinion monitoring report indicated no significant negative feedback from April 4 to 6. The overall operation of the cultural and tourism market in the province during the holiday was stable and orderly.
