Maoming's manufacturing industry is witnessing a series of important projects, injecting new impetus into local development and providing strong support for the city's manufacturing and modernization efforts.

Currently, Maoming is undergoing energy-saving and carbon-reducing transformations in its traditional petrochemical industry, focusing on three strategic leading industries: green chemical engineering, new materials, and new energy. Among these, Donghua Energy is a key player in implementing a new propane dehydrogenation project, providing substantial support for developing Maoming's zero-carbon industrial park.

Maoming's construction industry is a pillar of the local economy, with over 1,000 construction enterprises and a total output value of 122.82 billion yuan ($17.06 billion), forming a cluster of billion-dollar industries. The Dianbai district was honored as the hometown of Chinese construction by the China Construction Industry Association, becoming the first area in Guangdong province to receive this recognition. Nearly 150,000 construction workers from Maoming are active in over 20 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across China.

Furthermore, Maoming is focusing on developing a modern agricultural industry system with the initiative "five trees, one fish, one table of dishes," promoting efficient and high-quality agricultural development and nurturing a group of modern agricultural industry clusters, each valued at over 10 billion yuan.
