Hebei celebrates lantern festival with music and performances

To celebrate the Lantern Festival that fell on Saturday, a small square at Nanjie village in Hanshan district, Handan, Hebei province, has been filled with the sound of drums and various performances since Thursday.
There were not only traditional programs such as poetry recitals, calligraphy and painting creations and folk dances but also fun activities, such as riddle guessing, cabbage-carrying races and sandbag throwing competitions.
The activities have created an extraordinarily lively atmosphere enjoyed by local villagers.
