Scenic spots, villages, communities, and districts in Shanxi recently collaborated to launch a series of activities called "Intangible Cultural Heritage Shanxi Year, Enjoying the Spring Festival", offering people the chance to savor the joys of the Spring Festival by experiencing intangible cultural heritage.
The Spring Festival is the most important traditional festival for the Chinese people, and there are many intangible cultural heritage items related to the festival. It is also a crucial time for communities and villages across the country to showcase their intangible cultural heritage and folk activities.
Throughout the Spring Festival, nearly 200 various intangible cultural heritage activities will be carried out across the province. For instance, the city of Shuozhou will host an intangible cultural heritage exhibition; Lyuliang will hold an intangible cultural heritage-themed cultural creativity fair; and Yuncheng will organize intangible cultural heritage performances in scenic areas.
From Feb 2 to 26, the Shanxi Department of Culture and Tourism will release a series of short videos capturing the most splendid moments showcasing intangible cultural heritage during the Spring Festival holiday in Shanxi.
Furthermore, the department will invite promoters of intangible cultural heritage items to tell their stories and talk with the public at Shanxi Library in Taiyuan.
