Post-00s station staff serve Spring Festival travel rush

Yu Beijia, a young train station staff member born in 2000, the Year of the Dragon, coincidentally is experiencing and serving her first Spring Festival travel rush in 2024, also the Year of the Dragon.

After her college graduation, she started serving at the Nanchong North Railway Station, in Nanchong city, Sichuan province, which is managed by the Chongqing North Railway Station depot. Every workday, after an appearance and uniform check, she would inspect the train platforms and tracks, offer help for key passengers, make equipment safety checks and confirm the number of passengers onboard.

During the Spring Festival travel rush, which began on Friday, Yu has begun to repeat the daily routine with more care, providing quick guides and safety tips to passengers waiting in line so that they can enjoy a cozy and comfortable journey back home.

What makes Yu's service special is her creation of short videos to better inform passengers of train travel tips, such as how to book tickets in advance.

"Inspiration comes from life. I always find that passengers have misunderstandings about train travels, often resulting in them missing their trains. That's why I decided to collect ideas and make short videos to publicize travel knowledge in my own spare time," said Yu.

"I hope to teach knowledge in a down-to-earth approach and ensure the travel safety of passengers," Yu added.

In the ongoing Spring Festival travel rush, there are 135 young staff members also born after 2000, like Yu, working in Chongqing North Railway Station depot. All of them contribute their efforts to the safe, orderly and warm travels for passengers in their own posts, protecting their way back home with actions.
