A China-France international cultural exchange event was launched in Datong city, North China's Shanxi province, on Jan 20, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France.
Highlighting Chinese and French cultural exchanges and the integration of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) techniques and contemporary art, the exhibition at the Datong Art Museum features six sections that showcase Datong knot art, an ICH item, and contemporary French artwork.

The event aims to explore the connection between traditional techniques and contemporary art, fostering a better understanding of ICH inheritance, protection, and development, while also promoting international cultural exchanges.
The main exhibits feature designs by Yang Xuefei, vice-president of the Datong Intangible Cultural Heritage Association, as well as artworks by French artists. The event will run until Feb 17.
