On Jan 15, FAW-Volkswagen held its 2024 press conference, reviewing its developmental journey in 2023 and outlining its independent and innovative transformation and development plan for 2024.

Throughout 2023, FAW-Volkswagen delivered over 1.91 million vehicles to end-users, marking a 4.8 percent year-on-year growth and achieving an 8.6 percent market share, meeting its annual operational objectives.

Sales for its Volkswagen, Audi, and Jetta brands all saw year-on-year growth. Volkswagen brand's end-user sales reached 1.05 million vehicles, marking two consecutive years of positive growth.

According to Ulrich Feuereis, first vice president of FAW-Volkswagen, FAW-Volkswagen plays a crucial role in Volkswagen Group's "in China for China" strategy, focusing on the Chinese market and promoting more efficient localized technological solutions. The Sino-German team of FAW-Volkswagen will deepen cooperation to introduce more innovative products and experiences, meeting the needs of Chinese consumers more efficiently.

In 2023, FAW-Volkswagen independently applied for 23 manufacturing technology patents, pioneering numerous domestic automated processes, including the first "multi-functional PVC robot workstation" and E-lane³, the industry's first intelligent warehousing and logistics project.

The company's factories across the country have fully embraced digital transformation, with its Changchun, Qingdao, and Tianjin factories honored as "China's benchmark intelligent factories". These factories have also achieved 100-percent CNC (Computer Numerical Control) and key equipment networking rates.

According to Dr Oliver Grünberg, technical vice president of FAW-Volkswagen, in response to the national "dual-carbon" initiative, FAW-Volkswagen is continuously advancing the "full life cycle carbon reduction" system, covering research and development, procurement, production, logistics, and usage.

Embracing the "goTOzero" environmental declaration and the clear goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, FAW-Volkswagen adopts energy-efficient and environmentally friendly materials. It also utilizes globally leading processes to effectively control wastewater, exhaust emissions, and carbon emissions.
