The Shanxi Department of Culture and Tourism held a Spring Festival cultural and tourism promotion carnival in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on Jan 13.
The carnival focused on promoting the traditional customs of Spring Festival in Shanxi province, centering around the four major cultural regions of southern, northern, central, and southeastern Shanxi.
With 11 cities participating, the carnival showcased the charm of Shanxi through online and in-person interactive activities.

The event included performances featuring Shanxi's traditional wheaten-made food culture and Jinju Opera, allowing the audience to experience the rich customs and traditions of the Spring Festival in the province.
Shanxi's cultural and tourism-themed "Year of the Dragon" emoji stickers, drawing inspiration from 16 Shanxi intangible cultural heritage artifacts related to dragons, were launched during the event.
During the upcoming traditional Spring Festival holiday between Feb 10 and 17, the 11 cities in the province will jointly launch 665 Spring Festival-themed cultural tourism activities, along with six major travel routes, offering visitors from around the world the chance to experience Shanxi's traditional customs.
