The Shanxi sub-venue of the 10th National Public Ice and Snow Season was launched on Dec 23 at the Jiulong International Cultural and Ecological Tourism Resort in Jinzhong, North China's Shanxi province.
The National Public Ice and Snow Season is a large-scale event hosted by the General Administration of Sport of China, aimed at popularizing and promoting ice and snow sports among the public. This year's event will continue until next April.
As a sub-venue, Shanxi will organize a series of ice and snow activities, including youth curling, ice hockey, public ice skating, and public skiing competitions. Each city in the province will also hold diverse and distinctive ice and snow activities tailored to local conditions.
It's expected to stimulate sports tourism, increase sports consumption, and promote the sustainable development of the sports industry and sports events through the integration of "sports + ice and snow + competitions + culture + tourism."
