The international air route linking Guilin in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and Jakarta in Indonesia resumed operation on Dec 15 with the arrival of flight ID7001 at Guilin Liangjiang International Airport.

Operated by Indonesian airline Batik Air, the flight will utilize a Boeing B737 aircraft and is scheduled to fly once a week on Saturdays. The flight is scheduled to depart from Jakarta airport at 3:55 am local time and arrive at Guilin airport at 9:15 am. The return flight leaves Guilin at 10:15 am and arrives at Jakarta at 2:35 pm.

The majority of the 158 passengers on this inaugural flight were tourists arranged by travel agencies. They will tour Guilin for seven days.

Indonesia is an important source market for inbound tourism in Guilin. Prior to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, Guilin officials had conducted tourism promotion activities and participated in exhibitions in Indonesia for several consecutive years.

After years of market cultivation, inbound tourists from Indonesia have consistently ranked among the top 10 foreign inbound tourists in Guilin, making it the second-largest market in Guilin's ASEAN source market, second only to Malaysia.
