A contest to find a themed logo design for the 2024 ASEAN-China Year of People-to people Exchanges was launched in Changzhi city, North China's Shanxi province, on Dec 18.

Tang Zhiping, vice-governor of Shanxi province, Nong Rong, assistant minister of Foreign Affairs of China, and Zhou Haoli, Ambassador of Indonesia to China, attended the launch ceremony and delivered speeches.

Diplomats from the 10 ASEAN countries, including Brunei, Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand, as well as ASEAN students studying in Shanxi, participated in the event.

2024 is designated as the China-ASEAN Year of Cultural Exchanges. As an important part of this, the logo design competition is being hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the China-ASEAN Centre, with the CPC Changzhi municipal committee and government as the organizers.

The event aims to enhance cultural exchanges and friendship between China and ASEAN countries and to increase the appeal, visibility, and influence of the Year of Cultural Exchanges.

Taking advantage of this event, Changzhi is also hosting a series of activities, including an exhibition showcasing intangible cultural heritage and creative design, and a cultural creative industry cooperation and exchange meeting, so as to promote itself, facilitate cultural communication, and enhance economic and trade exchanges.
