Nanning will deepen cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN countries. It will also accelerate its transformation into a "must-visit" destination for ASEAN tourists, local officials announced at the opening of the 2023 Guangxi Culture Tourism Expo on Nov 18.

Nanning is the closest domestic capital city to ASEAN countries and is a frontier and hub city for China's opening-up and cooperation with ASEAN countries. In recent years, the city has launched practical measures to build a national tourism hub city and an international tourism center.

Nanning has increased international tourism flight routes, speeding up the construction of the China-ASEAN tourism distribution center.

Additionally, Nanning continues to enhance its international reputation by organizing cultural tourism events, such as the Nanning International Folk Song Arts Festival and China-ASEAN (Nanning) Theatre Week.

The city has also been actively building a platform for exchanges and interactions with ASEAN countries, carrying out strategic cooperation in the tourism market and incubating more tourism products.

In the future, Nanning will establish a platform for promotion and for sharing cultural tourism resources. It will strive to create new cultural and tourism products, enhance its cultural tourism sector, accelerate the promotion of distinctive tourism products, and contribute to Guangxi's development.
