The Taihang Mountain National Park, created jointly by Shanxi and Henan provinces, has officially submitted its National Park Establishment Plan to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, announced by Yue Kuiqing, deputy director of Shanxi Forestry and Grassland Bureau, at a press conference on Nov 16.
The majestic Taihang Mountains stretches hundreds of miles through the provinces of Hebei, Shanxi and Henan in North China.
The Taihang Mountain National Park has been incorporated into the national park spatial layout plan, chosen from a pool of 49 candidate areas.
Yue emphasized that the two provinces are actively enhancing communication and coordination efforts. Shanxi has formalized its commitment to the establishment of the Taihang Mountain National Park through the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Henan Forestry Administration.
In addition, Shanxi is accelerating the development of a new type of nature reserve system, with the national park as the core and supplemented by various types of nature parks.
