East China Normal University (ECNU) recently hosted its 17th International Cultural Festival, a popular annual campus event that celebrates and showcases diversity and offers a stage for students to display their talents and national cultures.
The festival featured a remarkable international cultural exhibition, known as the Mini Expo, held at ECNU's Putuo Campus in Shanghai on Nov 4. Students from 70 countries and regions showcased a diverse array of food, crafts, and traditional costumes at their national booths at the Mini Expo.
During the opening ceremony, ECNU Vice President Gu Hongliang, said the festival allows for the understanding of different cultures and spreads friendship and joy. He thanked students for promoting cultural exchange.
The event attracted the broad participation of Chinese and international students studying in Shanghai, university teachers and leaders, ECNU's international alumni, representatives of ECNU's domestic and overseas partners, foreign diplomats in Shanghai, and local residents.
There were also various cultural experience activities and performances from talented international students, creating a joyful event for all.
ECNU enrolled more than 1,000 new international students this fall. Nearly 2,300 international students from 120 countries and regions are currently studying there. Adhering to the concept of "Bring the world to ECNU, bring ECNU to the world", ECNU is committed to international cooperation and exchange.
