Nine provinces and autonomous regions along the Yellow River on Oct 26 signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement for standardized ecological protection and high-quality development in the river basin.
Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, and Shandong provinces, as well as Ningxia Hui autonomous region and Inner Mongolia autonomous region will strengthen their collaborative efforts in the construction of a system of standards for ecological protection and high-quality development in the basin.
They will also work together to enhance the interoperability of standards, revise regional standards for ecological protection and high-quality development in the basin, and strengthen cooperation in demonstration projects showcasing various forms of standardization.
In the future, they will incorporate the need for regional development standards into the national standard system.
Taking into account the economic and social development of the aforementioned regions, they will build and improve systems of standards related to the conservation and utilization of water resources, water-sediment regulation, flood control and drought resistance, soil and water conservation, hydrology, water environmental quality and pollutant emissions, ecological protection and restoration, natural resources surveys and monitoring evaluation, biodiversity conservation, and cultural heritage protection.
