Jurchen Jin Dynasty imperial temple site found in Beijing

At the Jurchen Jin Dynasty (1115-1234) Middle Capital archeological site in Beijing, large-scale building foundations have recently been discovered. According to historical documents, some of these discoveries might be part of the Dajue Temple, an imperial structure relevant to that period.

Diverse cultural relics were excavated from the site, including jade booklets, tile-ends, bronze seals, religious figurines, ceramics, iron ware and bone ware, showcasing the economic and technological advancements as well as social lives of people who existed in the Middle Capital. The archaeological finds also provide clues for research on the city layout and royal rituals of the Jin Dynasty Middle Capital.
