The county-level city Shulan in Jilin city, Northeast China's Jilin province, is currently witnessing the gradual ripening of 750,000 mu (50,000 hectares) of rice fields.

In the 1,000 mu of high-standard farmland in Qili village, gentle breezes rustle through the fields, gently moving the waves of golden rice. In just over 10 days, these rice paddies will be ready for harvesting, with an estimated yield of over 560 metric tons.

Lyujiayuan Rice Planting Cooperative member Su Yanhong said the early-maturing Dao Hua Xiang 2 rice variety planted by the cooperative is gradually ripening in September. Taking advantage of the favorable market conditions and high demand during the upcoming holidays, they plan to sell the rice at a good price.

Cai Xingbao, general manager of Shulan Jimi Grain Co, said that in early October, their organically grown Dao Hua Xiang and Xiao Ting Xiang rice varieties will hit the market.

The expected yield is 388 tons and the products will be distributed to more than 10 places, including Guangdong, Shanghai, Hainan, Beijing, and Sichuan, allowing more people to savor the taste of Shulan rice.

With an abundant harvest on the horizon, Shulan is poised to impress rice lovers nationwide with its high-quality grain.
