The import and export value of North China's Shanxi province reached 15.39 billion yuan ($2.12 billion) in July, marking a month-on-month increase of 22.2 percent, according to Taiyuan Customs on Aug 18.
New energy vehicles, pharmaceutical products, and rail transportation equipment have emerged as the new growth drivers for foreign trade in the province.
For instance, from January to July, Shanxi's automotive exports saw robust growth, benefiting from the advantages of China's supportive measures in boosting the new energy industry. In July alone, the exports of new energy vehicles reached 257, a 19-fold annual increase.
Taiyuan Customs will continue to implement various measures to promote the stable and high-quality development of foreign trade in terms of scale and structure.
