A all-cargo plane with flight number O37077 departed from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport and headed to Ezhou, Central China's Hubei province, on July 31. This flight marked the beginning of the cargo route between Xi'an and Ezhou.

This will further support the opening-up and development of Xi'an and even Shaanxi province.

The route is expected to run five to seven times per week. The outbound flights mainly transport local express deliveries, fresh fruits, and other high-value-added goods. In contrast, the inbound flights mainly handle express deliveries and e-commerce products from East and South China to be transferred to Northwest China via Ezhou.

The route is developed by the Airport New City of Xixian New Area – a national development zone jointly built by Xi'an and Xianyang – and SF Express, which will effectively enhance the transfer transportation capacity of Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, further improve the air cargo network layout, and also strengthen Xi'an's position as a cargo distribution center.

The Airport New City has opened 45 full cargo routes, which include 24 international cargo routes, covering 22 cities in 14 countries. Some of the cities include Moscow, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Brussels. Over time, a robust air cargo network has been established that caters to the Belt and Road Initiative and extends globally. This network has helped Shaanxi become better integrated into the global market.
