Located in the cultural industry zone of Chongqing, Shi Guangnan Grand Theater is 33.6 meters tall and covers a construction area of two hectares. With a capacity of more than 1,200 people, it hosts a wide range of performances with world-leading facilities, including operas, dance dramas, ballets, symphonies and galas. The theater is named after the respected and prolific Chinese composer and musician, Shi Guangnan(1940-1990), who was born in the Nan'an district of Chongqing in 1940.

The theater’s stage is 23 meters deep and 53 meters wide, and is equipped with a stretchable entablature and divided into a main stage and two side ones. The upper part of the stage is 24 m high. The main stage is installed with three elevated platforms, three side sliding stages, one elevated orchestra pit and one actor-elevating car, allowing for quick and smooth actor switches. Besides, the removable acoustic reflecting covers and four-point hoists above the orchestra pit also provide good conditions for large symphony concerts. There are four removable light stands and 40 electric poles installed above the stage to enable scene changes in dance dramas, plays and operas. The theater also sets of dressing rooms of different standards with complete facilities, such as public broadcasting and other general equipment.
