Fudan University holds training program for young diplomatic talents from BRI countries

The sixth Advanced Training Program for Young Diplomatic Talents from the Belt and Road Countries, which was held from June 12 to June 30 by Fudan University and supported by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, gave the participants a deeper insight into the Belt and Road Initiative, or BRI.

This year, 17 young diplomatic talents from 10 countries along the along the Belt and Road, including Pakistan, Palestine, the Philippines, Mongolia, Thailand, Turkey, Singapore, Vietnam, Brazil and Australia, took part in the program.

During the program, the participants learned about the cooperation and common development between China and countries and regions involved in the BRI, China's international cooperation, diplomatic strategy, law and politics, and grassroots governance.

The program also featured expert lectures on topics like China-Africa cooperation under the BRI, Chinese language courses, and field trips.

Aletheia Kerygma Burgos Valenciano, one of the participants from the Philippines, spoke highly of the content of the program, saying that the program offered an exchange and learning program for youth from BRI countries which helped them better understand the vision of the BRI.

Professor Su Changhe, head of the School of International Relations and Public Affairs of Fudan University, said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the BRI, and he hopes that participants could through the program enhance their understanding of China's domestic affairs and diplomacy and national governance, as well as the connotation and value of the BRI.
