The ninth "Thousand Talent Witnessing Taizhou" initiative was launched in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province on June 27.
The launch event was attended by 140 newly recruited doctoral and postdoctoral talents.
The initiative aims to create a vibrant talent ecosystem and had attracted over 7,000 doctoral and postdoctoral scholars in previous years.

Taizhou has in recent years been implementing new policies to attract and retain talent, as well as rewarding those who choose to stay in Taizhou. Authorities have also organized the "Taizhou Day" event in renowned universities in cities like Nanjing, Hong Kong and Lanzhou to showcase the city's strengths.
"I feel valued and cared for by both companies and the government," said Xiang Zhinan, a doctoral graduate who joined Taizhou-based Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group last year.
This year, Xiang, who specializes in developing traditional Chinese medicine for treating stomach ailments, received a project funding of 2 million yuan ($275,944).
"Apart from providing a living allowance, the company has also offered me an apartment, and this greatly alleviated the initial challenges I faced as someone who isn't from this city," said Xiang, who is now planning to buy a house and settle in Taizhou.
"My girlfriend is a master's graduate, and the housing subsidy we get can amount to as much as 300,000 yuan, which is a tremendous help for our small family."
