Shanxi's Salt Lake looks like artist's palette

As temperatures rise in recent days, various bright colors appear on the surface of the Salt Lake in Yuncheng, Shanxi province, displaying a unique and gorgeous landscape in the summer.

Because of an increasing concentration of chemical elements, such as potassium and sodium as well as the rapid growth of algae and saltwater insects in the water, the lake appears in a variety of different colors.

When viewed from the air, the lake could be mistaken for an artist's palette.
