Shenzhou 16 launches in Ejine Banner, Alshaa

On May 30, China's manned spaceship Shenzhou 16, successfully launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Alshaa League, located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, with the Long March 2F carrier rocket propelling it into space.

Founded in 1958, Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, also referred to as Dongfeng Aerospace City is located in Ejine Banner, Alshaa League. This prominent facility holds the distinction of being China's sole manned space launch site.

During its illustrious six-decade history, Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center has achieved numerous notable accomplishments in China's aerospace domain. The center has successfully launched over 200 satellites, including communication, navigation, and scientific satellites. Moreover, it has played a pivotal role in China's human spaceflight program, with 16 Shenzhou spacecraft, target aircraft, and a space laboratory launched from its center.
