Opened in 1988 and situated in one of the largest battlefield locales from China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1937-45), the Eighth Route Army Taihang Memorial Hall boasts a collection of 8,000 cultural relics, primarily those related to the Eighth Route Army, an army under the command of the Chinese Communist Party of the Republic of China (1912-49).

Covering 14.8 hectares, the memorial hall consists of 10 sites, including the exhibition hall of the Eighth Route Army, the kilometer-long scenario of the “cave war” setting, statues of the army’s leaders, and a peace-themed park.

The highlight of the museum is the exhibition featuring the Hundred Regiments Offensive at Niangzi Pass in 1940. Against the backdrop of a painting of war scenes, the tough battle scene is recreated with acoustic and photo-electronic technologies, providing an immersive experience for visitors.
