BEIJING -- An exhibition has recently opened at the Palace Museum to show the everlasting beauty of Dunhuang, a city along the Silk Road in Northwest China's Gansu province.
With 188 pieces of cultural relics from the Palace Museum and the Dunhuang Academy, the exhibition enables the public to embrace the history of Dunhuang, learn about the construction of ancient caves, and experience the charm of sculptures and mural paintings.
It also demonstrates the achievements of the two institutions in protecting cultural heritage and carrying forward the traditional Chinese culture in different historical periods.
Through the exhibition, which will last until November, visitors may also learn about China's efforts to protect traditional culture.
