Cherry festival kicks off in Laoshan

The 28th Beizhai Cherry Festival is scheduled to take place in Laoshan's charming Beizhai sub-district in Qingdao on May 6. This year's festival has the harmonious theme of "Home of Cherries, Sweet Rendezvous" and is unveiling a digital collection designed around the "Big Bei" and "Little Zhai" cherry characters.

Laoshan district has planned and organized the festival with meticulous design, event planning and promotions. The program is packed with remarkable events, including opening and closing ceremonies and an immersive mountain performance that focuses on the theme of "Cherry Redness".

A giant cherry decoration suspended above the beautiful Dalao Cherry Valley adds to the experience of the festival, and visitors can also taste freshly harvested cherries at the Qingdao Airlines' Cherry Festival. A prestigious beauty contest will also take place, with the winning contestant being awarded as a spokesperson for Beizhai's cultural tourism department.

As the host of the Beizhai Cherry Festival for over 27 years, Beizhai sub-district is known as the "Home of Chinese Cherries". The festival is now one of the top 10 festivals in Qingdao.
