Recently, six departments, including the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, announced the sixth batch of villages to be included in the list of traditional Chinese villages. A total of 1,336 villages were selected, including Helin village in Sancha town of Yizhou district, and Banna village in Pingnan town.
Traditional villages refer to those with both material and intangible forms of cultural heritage, and which have a high historical, cultural, scientific, artistic, social, and economic value.
Previously, four villages in Hechi had been included in the same list, namely Nongli village in Bansheng township, Dahua Yao autonomous county; Huaili village in Lihu Yao township, Nandan county; Baya village in Lihu Yao township, Nandan county; and Sanbao village in Sanbao township, Tian'e county.
