A Hohhot-Ulan Bator-Istanbul all-cargo route was launched recently with the first aircraft leaving Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The flight was loaded with 27.8 metric tons of auto parts, power switches, various fabrics and other products.

Plans are for the route to operate once weekly and it is estimated that 36 flights can be implemented throughout the course of a year, with the imports and exports cargo volume topping 1,000 tons.

In the wake of the opening of the route, it's expected that the types of goods transported will continue to be expanded. Imports and exports will cover hundreds of types of fruit and vegetables, daily necessities, clothing, household appliances, equipment accessories, electronics products and digital products.

Moving forwards, plans are for Hohhot Baita International Airport to continue to optimize its port business environment and services. It will also aid the healthy development of trade formats such as all-cargo charter flights and cross-border e-commerce in the autonomous region.
