Hohhot city reports growth in Q1 railway freight deliveries

The China Railway Hohhot Bureau handled 63.78 million metric tons of cargo deliveries in the first quarter, with an average of 10,788 rail freight cars loaded per day, according to data released by the bureau. 

Since the start of the year, with the acceleration of the production and operational activities of enterprises, the demand for transportation of bulk energy materials, such as coal has increased.

The China Railway Hohhot Bureau has contacted key customers and key freight enterprises about mid and long-term coal transportation, to optimize transport organization and formulate a loading calendar for thermal coal.

At the same time, the Hohhot bureau made full use of coal transport channels, such as the Tangshan-Baotou and Haolebaoji-Ji'an railways, to organize the shipment of coal from the west to east and from north to south. On average, 29 trains with 10,000 tons of coal operated every day in Q1. 

The bureau is understood to be making every effort to ensure the supply of electricity and coal in more than 20 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, including the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta region and Northeast China.

In order to ensure the transportation needs of production and daily necessities, the China Railway Hohhot Bureau continued to deepen the structural reform of the supply side of railway transportation during the first quarter. 

Furthermore, it increased the transportation service guarantees for key agricultural products such as grain, chemical fertilizers and milk.
