Students invited to US for robotics competition

Two teams from a high school in Fuzhou, Fujian province, will compete with other student-led robotics teams from around the world at a robotics world championship in April, thanks to their stellar performance in competitions so far.

Sources at the Fuzhou No 3 High School said they received an invitation from the organizer of the 2023 VEX Robotics World Championship, which will be held in Dallas, Texas, in the United States from April 25 to May 4.

At the 2022-23 VEX Asia Open, the students won the championship, third place, second place in robot skills and the design award in their division.

During the 15th VEX Asia-Pacific Robotics Championship 2022, which was held last year in May in Qingdao, Shandong province, four students guided by their coaches won the first prize, second prize, and the best creativity award for the high school group.

Founded in 1942, Fuzhou No 3 High School is a full-time high school with a high reputation in China. In recent years, more than 100 students have joined its robotics team. Some of them went to work in the robotics sector after graduation.
