Traditional Chinese medicine brand Pien Tze Huang has taken the crown as the most successful Chinese heritage brand, followed by traditional Chinese medicine brand Tong Ren Tang and alcohol brand Kweichow Moutai, according to a report released by the Hurun Research Institute.
Based on several criteria, including brand history, value and cultural heritage, the Hurun report listed the Chinese mainland's 100 most successful brands that are over 60 years old.
The listed brands related to traditional Chinese medicine, white liquor, or baijiu, and food composed one half of the list, and 15 are valued at more than 100 billion yuan, while Kweichow Moutai, China Construction Bank and Agricultural Bank of China have brand value exceeding one trillion yuan.
