Hunan Rice Noodles Festival opens in Changsha

The Hunan Rice Noodles Festival and the Third Hunan Rice Noodles Competition opened at Hunan Rice Noodles Street in Furong District, Changsha City on March 12.

The Hunan Rice Noodles Street signed cooperative agreements with the Hunan Rice Noodles Museum, Changsha Association of Rice Noodles Industry, and its newly-settled businesses. It also signed a collaboration product development agreement with  Liu Longzi Rice Noodle House. IP-based cultural and creative products of the rice noodle street were launched for the first time.

More than 20 featured rice noodle businesses from across the country have settled in the street. Hot topics regarding the Hunan Rice Noodles Street had more than one billion views on Douyin, a Chinese social media platform. The rice noodle street has become a new internet-famous cultural tourism landmark and a new calling card under the background of the strategy of "Strengthening the Provincial Capital".

After the opening ceremony, various activities will be held, including a two-day off-line rice noodles competition, an online rice noodles competition, a summit forum on the development of Hunan's rice noodles industry, and an award ceremony.

In 2021, Furong District launched the construction of Yuanjialing central cultural area, in a bid to build diversified featured cultural streets including the Hunan Rice Noodles Street. Rice noodles have been developed into a featured industry in the district to spur consumption.
