Maoming culture shines at Shenzen cultural fair

The 18th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) was held from Dec 29, 2022 to Jan 2, 2023 both online and offline, attracting 3,402 enterprises. The Maoming pavilion of the fair showcased Maoming culture and added to its gaining popularity.

With a modern marine style, the Maoming pavilion integrated multimedia, sound, lighting and other technologies with Maoming culture. The pavilion includes a city culture exhibition area, an intangible cultural heritage (ICH) exhibition area, a cultural industry exhibition area and a "five trees, one fish, and one table of dishes" model exhibition area.

The "five trees, one fish, and one table of dishes" model is a special agricultural model in Maoming. The five trees refer to lychee, longan, agarwood, exocarpium citri grandis (is also named Huajuhong, a tree used as a kind of traditional Chinese medicine), and Sanhua plum trees. The one fish refers to tilapia, while the one table of dishes refers to Maoming's pre-prepared food industry.

Many local enterprises in Maoming joined in this year's ICIF, including the Maoming Culture Media Group, the Maoming Culture Tourism Development Group, and the Maoming Warmhearted Baby Culture Co. These and other Maoming companies signed cooperation agreements worth over 20 million yuan ($3 million) at the ICIF.

On the opening day, the Maoming pavilion attracted over 3,000 people, who stated that Maoming has a rich culture and many distinctive cultural products.
