Hohhot employs 28,000 graduates in first nine months

In the first nine months of the year to end-September, 28,000 university graduates found employment and chose to stay in Hohhot – capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – according to the city's human resources and social security bureau.

In all, Hohhot plans to encourage and attract more than 100,000 university graduates to live and work there in three years.

In recent years, the Hohhot human resources and social security bureau has undertaken multiple measures to promote employment and entrepreneurship of graduates.

It has broadened its market-oriented employment channels for them to stay there for employment and entrepreneurship.

Furthermore, it has cultivated and expanded six major industry clusters and launched a three-year action plan to recruit more graduates.

Talent policy support has been further strengthened and the incentive guarantee mechanism for graduates to find employment or start their own businesses has been established and improved.

In 2022, Hohhot issued two sets of measures: "10 Supporting Implementation Measures of Hohhot's Talent Attraction Policy to Support Talent Employment and Entrepreneurship (Trial)" and the "10 Supporting Implementation Rules of Hohhot's Talent Attraction Policy in the Field of Science and Technology Innovation (Trial)".

In addition, guidance offered by its employment services has been strengthened and a guarantee system for employment and entrepreneurship services for graduates has been developed and improved.

To top it off, Hohhot provides career guidance, occupational training and internship opportunities for unemployed graduates who are willing to work and live in the city.
