Kunming receives 56.33 million visits in July and August

In July and Aug, Kunming, also known as 'Spring City', received 56.33 million visits, an increase of 60.30 percent and 75.56 percent over same periods in 2021 and 2019, respectively.

The total tourism revenue topped 69.75 billion yuan ($9.95 billion), an increase of over 50 percent year-on-year.

The mild weather of 'Spring City' was the biggest factor of the surge in visitors, following this year's punishing summer heat.

The city's hotels saw a quick and sound recovery with an occupancy rate of 90 percent.

Kunming plans to build more high-level hotels with investments being attracted from both home and abroad.
