Chongqing natural gas field adds capacity

Recently, the fifth compressor unit in the Fuling shale gas field in Chongqing began operations, improving natural gas movement from west to east in China.

According to the developer, Sinopec, China's largest oil refiner, the Fuling gas filed has sent 3.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas into the west-to-east pipeline. The gas field's cumulative output has exceeded 30 billion cubic meters so far, providing clean energy for more than 200 million people in more than 80 cities in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

The Fuling gas field, which began commercial development in 2014, produces some 20 million cubic meters of shale gas per day.
