The World Industrial Design Conference (WIDC) is an international design industry development event attended by design organizations, institutions, enterprises and universities from more than 40 countries and regions. It aims to promote the deep integration of industrial design and economic and social development, and to promote design exchanges and cooperation between countries and regions.
Since its establishment in 2016, the conference has been held annually, forming a platform for global industrial design innovation industry agglomeration, a platform for the cooperation and creation of design innovators, a platform for the development of the design innovation industry chain, and a platform for the cultivation of design innovation talents.
A series of fruitful results have been achieved: Participating international organizations, design institutions, enterprises and universities signed a package of cooperation memorandums, forming a series of action plans to jointly build the world design embassy areas, China industrial design towns, industrial design museums and more.
The Global Design for the Poverty Alleviation Initiative and the Design Industry Declaration were released, and the World Design Industry Organization and China Unified Innovation University of Industrial Design have been established, which have been highly praised and strongly supported by all sectors of society.
The World Industrial Design Conference is supported by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, the people's government of Shandong province, and design organizations from more than 30 countries and regions.
