More infections linked to Taiyuan logistics base

More COVID-19 cases linked to a cluster at the Yunda Express logistics base in Qingxu county of Taiyuan, Shanxi province, bring the number of people infected to more than 60, the city's health commission reported.

Yunda Express had reported 59 positive test results as of 6 pm on Thursday, it said, noting that new related infections were added, including logistics workers in Jinzhong and a Yunda Express truck driver from Xinzhou.

The cluster at the logistic base was first detected early on Wednesday, the commission said.

The truck driver tested positive on Thursday in Fanshi county of Xinzhou. He had driven his truck between Qingxu and Fanshi counties.

In Jinzhong's Taigu district, a female parcel sorter for Yunda Express tested positive on Thursday night, while Yuci district in Jinzhong reported two other confirmed cases. Both of those people also work at the logistics base in Qingxu.

More than 900 workers at the logistics base have been sent to centralized quarantine centers, and more than 7,000 express workers in Taiyuan were queried about their trips and health condition. Some were quarantined while other received nucleic acid tests, the health commission said.
