After a two-hour trip, a batch of Thai durians on Tianjin Air Cargo flight HT3828 landed at Nanning Wuxu International Airport on May 13, which is the first batch of imported fruit since the airport was permitted to conduct imported fruit supervision.

Nanning Wuxu International Airport won this approval on April 1, nearly half a year after it was approved to become a supervision site for imported fruit by the General Administration of Customs.

The air transportation of Thai durians allows them to arrive at their destination on the same day as they are picked, thus reducing transportation costs and assuring the quality of the durians.

Following unloading, customs officers at the airport must quickly complete procedures such as inspection, certificate verification, and quarantine to ensure quick clearance.

The airport can now handle iced aquatic items and edible aquatic animals in addition to imported fruit. The improved airport function is projected to aid in the expansion of import channels and the formation of a logistics network that includes road, sea, and rail transportation.
