Liangjiang New Area ranked first in the 2021 national innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration base assessment in terms of coordinated innovation among macro, medium, and small-sized enterprises.

Meanwhile, Chongqing Zhubajie Network Co, based in the new area, ranked fourth in the corporate innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration base evaluation.

The assessment was initiated jointly by the National Development and Reform Commission and the China Association for Science and Technology, and was conducted by third-party assessing institutes. Innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration bases across the country are divided into four categories – regional ones, corporate ones, colleges, and research institutes.

Guided by the "sci-tech innovation + industry" principle, Liangjiang has rolled out a slew of work plans for innovation centers, incubator recognition and talent attraction. These policies have accelerated the upgrading of the new area's innovation platforms, as well as the transfer and application of scientific and technological achievements.

Liangjiang's very practice of building an innovation consortium led by leading enterprises, supported by renowned universities, and participated in by all kinds of innovative entities has been openly praised and promoted by the State Council.

In addition, a high-quality business environment has been created in the new area through the establishment of industrial alliances and renewed efforts to financially assist sci-tech firms. As main battlefields for Chongqing's and Sichuan's social and economic progress, Liangjiang has been working with Chengdu Tianfu New Area in automobile manufacturing, electronic information, sci-tech innovation, cultural and creative exhibition, modern finance, digital economy, headquarters economy and biomedicine.

The new area is currently home to more than 40 incubators and makerspaces, which have cultivated over 3,000 firms and registered 500 million ($78.55 million) in total investment and financing. Chongqing Zhubajie Network Co – a State-level innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration base – posted a registration volume exceeding 10 million and nurtured over 100,000 firms providing millions of new jobs.
