Scenic spots, flights resume normal operation in Zhuhai

Scenic areas in Zhuhai have gradually resumed operation, with the number of visitors limited to 50 percent of their maximum capacity, as the city downgraded all three areas in Nanping Town of Xiangzhou District from medium-risk to low-risk COVID-19 areas on Jan 28.

Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort and Chimelong International Circus City in Hengqin reopened Jan 29 with stringent epidemic prevention and control measures. Visitors need to make reservations in advance. They are required to cooperate with body temperature measurement, present a green health code, pass a security check, and wear masks properly when entering with their ID cards. It is also recommended that tourists maintain a safe social distance from each other in the scenic areas.

Chimelong Ocean Kingdom's newborn penguins and manatees will entertain the public, while special firework shows celebrating the Spring Festival and Asia's largest flying roller coaster -- Parrot Roller Coaster -- are also hugely popular with visitors.

Renowned circus performances featuring 300 circus elites from 20 countries will be staged at Chimelong International Circus City.

In Xiangzhou District, the 2.5-km (1.6-mile) Park Necklace and 2.4-km (1.5-mile) Sea View segments of the Jingshan Trail have opened for a maximum 5,000 visitors per day from Jan 28 to 31. The number of visitors allowed will increase to 8,000 starting from Feb 1. 

New Yuanming Palace in Lanpu Community of Gongbei has reopened on Jan 29. Tourists need to make reservations via its official WeChat account zhymxy1997 and scan the QR code to enter the park.

From Jan 28 to Feb 15, passengers can enjoy a 50 percent discount when purchasing tourist ferry tickets for routes departing from Jiuzhou and Wanzai ports. The ferry route between Jiuzhou Port and Shenzhen's Shekou Cruise Homeport was back in service on Jan 28. 

Passenger flights at Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport have been resumed in a gradual manner since Jan 28. A total of 101 flights to 25 domestic cities, including Changsha, Guiyang, Lanzhou, and Hefei, have been arranged from Jan 28 to 31, serving up to 16,800 visitors before the Feb 1 Spring Festival. By February, the airport will have 52 routes to 31 domestic destinations.
