A foreigner surnamed Zhao who works in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, as an enterprise legal person, recently received a digital business license from the local commerce bureau.

It was the first digital license issued to a foreign LP in Jiangsu province.

The service targets foreigners, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as mainland citizens who fail to pass the facial recognition required by the digital business license application.

LPs need to provide their valid identity documents and the Confirmation of Downloading Digital Business License, which they must sign.

By scanning the QR code offered by staff members at the service window, LPs need to fill in required information such as their name, ID card number, and mobile phone number and wait for their information to be checked. They will receive a SMS code on their phone, type in it, and a digital business license will be shown on their phone for download.

If LPs entrust someone else for the service, the entrusted person needs to first file an application to the commerce bureau. Staff members at the service window will send QR codes of the digital business licenses to the LP's email, enabling them to download it remotely.

LPs must click on the link included in the email and enter the unified social credit code and ID card number to complete verification. They can then scan the QR code via the digital business license mobile app and type in their names and ID card numbers to download the digital license.
